In-game event held in Hobbiton
Saturday saw a gathering of poets and aficionados alike at the Methel Stage in Hobbiton. The local events organizers sponsored this poetry competition and received submissions from a good number of people from far and wide.
At 3pm the audience settled down, there were a few latecomers as some had to travel a great distance to be there. Around ten entrants were summoned to the stage to read out their pieces. The theme for the prose for the contest was "Home" and the audience were not disappointed. There were some truly outstanding entries and indeed some incredible writing talent.
A panel of judges (including our very own Satine) scored each participant and at the end the winner was awarded some prizes; a weapon of their choice, some gold and of course the customary fireworks. The runners up also received some gold and there were free fireworks for everyone that attended. After an exuberant fireworks display the crowd headed off to the after show reception which was held in the nearby Green Dragon Inn. Much fun was had once the rat infestation in the cellar had been dealt with!
