The magic continues...



Once the still shoot wrapped up, we all headed off to the very warm pub just down the road for lunch where there was delicious, piping hot soup and sandwiches waiting for us. It was a welcome rest for all and everyone's cheeks went rosy as they warmed back up. :)



Toasty warm and with satisfied bellies, we all trundled out with renewed gusto to face the afternoon's work. The next scene to shoot was the shot of our lead exiting his house but this time from the other side.





The background artistes get ready for action



It was a relatively quick shoot and the time came to pack up all the gear and head on to our next location - a house in the suburbs for the next few scenes.



The third scene would show another character in his reception getting ready to go out. Can you spot the items he's taking to Middle-earth with him? :)





An adventurer's collection of items



Our next actor Ben was the lead for this scene and played the part of a slightly geeky young man. The scene shows him gathering his equipment ready to go out for a game of golf, however the battleaxe that he puts into the bag last is a clear clue as to his actual intentions!





Ben packing his bags to move to Middle-earth



This was a very short scene and after some technical issues with the golf bag refusing to stand up, resolved with one of the crew lying down to hold it up, we managed to bag the scene in around 30 takes.



Moving into the kitchen we prepared for our next shot. This next scene would show another actor, Miles playing the part of a business man first thing in the morning having his coffee and planning out his journey for that day. We see a large map of Middle-earth on the wall and many pins in it, possibly marking previous conquests or future exploration zones?

By this time it was dark outside however huge sodium lights were blasting blinding light through the windows and it really looked like morning time inside!





Artificial sunlight streaming into the kitchen



There was just one scene left and this one would feature our actress Claire getting ready to go out. We're not going to tell you about this scene though as we don't want to give away everything!



It was now getting late and almost 22.00 hours. The owners needed their house back and we still had a three-hour journey back home! We did manage to have a bit of fun in front of the map in the kitchen which you'll see in an upcoming article however for now, we leave you with a shot of the COG team that were there for filming.

In case you wonder what they're doing with their hands, apparently it's some sort of "secret-handshake"...
