Book 12: The Ashen Wastes Overview
Introduction:
Welcome to the latest free content update for The Lord of the Rings Online™! Book 12: The Ashen Wastes introduces even more ways to customise your character with cosmetic clothing, travelling clothes, and barbershops. The Guardian and Burglar classes have had major updates, and Champions will find many improvements to their class as well. Battle for control of a new PvMP dungeon: the Delving of Frór, or return to Angmar and check out its nearly complete overhaul for playability and fun. Join us as we unveil the next book in this epic adventure, Book 12: The Ashen Wastes!

Customise your Character!
Book 12 introduces two brand new avatar customization features to LOTRO: The Outfit System and Barbershops! Players can alter their appearance and wardrobe without diminishing the gameplay benefits of their currently equipped items. Show your style by visiting the local barbershop or clothing vendor.

Discover The Delving of Frór!
Monster players and Free Peoples alike assail the terror that dwells within the Delving of Frór, either as a way to garner sinister new allies or to combat the great evil threatening the lands of Eriador. The Delving of Frór is an engaging new PvMP dungeon accessed only through the Ettenmoors. Dive deep into the Delving and experience this hotly contested area, ripe with conflict!

Month of the Burglar
Adding more to a class which already has so much versatility and depth hasn’t been easy, and we’ve decided to add a little something to everything -- new skills and items that enhance or play on the Burglar’s established class abilities, and a mix of fun skills and items that the shrewd Burglar can apply in the right situations to good (and sometimes humorous) effect. - Eleven new skills have been added, some granted as low as level 20

Month of the Guardian
Already the hardiest class in Middle-earth, the Guardian is able to withstand relentless onslaughts. The changes in this new update are largely designed to provide interesting and viable alternative playstyles for the class while addressing core concerns such as repair costs and offensive stances. The Champion Revisited
Although the Champion was one of the first classes to undergo an update, we’re taking the opportunity in Book 12 to address some of the issues that have been voiced since LOTRO went live. While it isn’t as involved as a full-on "Month of" update, we addressed most of the issues brought up by the community and gave them the tools necessary to fulfill their class roles in LOTRO.
