Book 11: Defenders of Eriador - Standalone Patch Instructions

IMPORTANT: If you are patching from the retail client of the game (i.e. you’ve just bought the game), before installing Book 11 you will first of all need to install the Book 9 & Book 10 Standalone patches. To do this, please follow the instructions provided on the links below:

Book 11: Defenders of Eriador - Standalone Patch Instructions

1: Download* the standalone patch file from one of the following locations:

Gamershell

Fileplanet

GameZone

Internode

Ausgamers

K-Files

Clubic

2. Once the patch has downloaded, launch the LOTRO_EU_Book 11_Updater.exe. This will launch and automatically extract the files to a temporary folder (Don’t worry; these files will be deleted upon completion of their install).

3. Once the file extraction is complete you will be asked for a language to install in and the installation process will start for Part 1 of the patch. Don’t worry, the game will find the location of your LOTRO install automatically.

4. Once the installation of Part 1 is complete Part 2 should begin (a short delay may occur). If your game launcher opens at the completion of Part 1 then close it down and wait for Part 2 to begin.

5. Once Part 2 of the patcher launches you will again be asked for a language to install in and the installation process will then start for Part 2 of the patch. Don’t worry, the game will find the location of your LOTRO install automatically. Please Note: This only installs the files to the game folder - they will be verified once the Book 11 Update has gone live.

6a. Once the patcher Install Shield install has completed, the LOTRO Launcher will restart itself. Click "Continue" to be sent to the familiar pre-login check-screen. You can now play the game as normal.


Once Book 11 goes live, the following step will apply:

6b. Once the files have been verified by the Launcher (around 3700 - 4000 files, which takes on average around 30 minutes) you will be presented with the login screen and then you will be able to enter your ID and password and log into the game.
